Key Facts:
The first project segment of the Honolulu Rail Transit Projects extends from East Kapolei to Aloha Stadium. It consists of over 10.8 miles of elevated segmental guideway structure built in span-by-span and balanced cantilever using 5,238 precast segments. Spans range from 68’ to over 340’ in length, with typical spans measuring 125’ in length.
GM2's Complex Bridge staff participated as Engineer of Record for the precast segmental elevated guideway superstructure and provided an Aerial Guideway Structures Design Manager who was responsible for directing and coordinating the superstructure and substructure design in close collaboration with HART, the contractor, and the consultant team. In addition, GM2's Complex Bridge staff provided construction engineering including design of the erection pier brackets, segment lifting frames, and development of the erection and casting manuals for both sections. GM2's Complex Bridge staff also performed QC engineering inspection at the precast yard and for erection of the spanby-span and balanced cantilever portions of the guideway.
