MHT Runway 35 Obstruction Clearing Project

Client: Manchester-Boston Regional Airport

Key Facts:

  • Construction Monitoring
  • Interagency Coordination

GM2 conducted environmental monitoring during the construction phase of the project, which involved tree clearing and grubbing within the approach surface for the Airport’s primary runway. Due to the large amount of ground disturbance, the project’s Alteration of Terrain Permit required weekly and post-storm inspection reports to be submitted to the NH Department of Environmental Services (NHDES). GM2 also monitored for compliance with the NPDES Construction General Permit and the project’s NHDES Wetlands Permit. Since the project area contained sensitive habitat for several state-listed species, coordination with the NH Fish and Game Department was an important component.
