GM2 is serving as the lead design firm under a Design-Build contract with RIDOT for the replacement of Bridge No. 653 carrying 9 lanes of I-95 over Oxford Street in Providence. The scope of work entails replacement of the bridge superstructure using Accelerated Bridge Construction techniques and rehabilitation of the existing abutment. With a high traffic volume and substantial site constraints the maintenance and protection of traffic is a critical factor.
