GM2 is currently providing environmental support for the construction phase of this project, which involves approximately 60 acres of tree clearing off the southern end of Runway 17-35 at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. The project area contains wetlands and sensitive habitat for several state-listed endangered species. GM2 is tasked with conducting site inspections to monitor Best Management Practices (BMPs) and compliance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) Wetlands Permit, and NHDES Alteration of Terrain Permit. GM2 is also responsible for coordinating with resource agencies, including NH Fish and Game and NHDES, and preparing an initial post-construction monitoring report, as required by the project’s Wetlands Permit.

LCI MSGP COMPLIANCE SUPPORT SERVICES

GM2 provides ongoing environmental compliance support for the Airport’s NPDES Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP). Tasks include conducting quarterly visual assessments of stormwater outfalls, completing inspections of the Airport’s facilities to monitor compliance with the Airport’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), recommending corrective actions to facilitate permit compliance, and preparing the MSGP Annual Report for submittal to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). GM2 recently updated the Airport’s MSGP SWPPP in accordance with the 2021 MSGP and prepared the Airport’s Notice of Intent for coverage under the new permit.

LCI OBSTRUCTION CLEARING PROJECT

GM2 provided environmental permitting support for the removal of trees that are obstructions to the protected airspace around the Airport. Tasks included wetland delineation and preparation of the NHDES Wetlands Permit and Shoreland Permit applications. Since the project involved tree clearing within locally designated prime wetlands, coordination with the local conservation commissions was required and the project was presented at several commission meetings. Coordination with NHDES and the US Army Corps of Engineers was important to this project since mitigation was required for the wetland impacts.

GM2 provided existing conditions plans at contours ranging from 0.2’ – 1’ contour intervals in winter conditions for numerous airport rehabilitation projects. Work was successfully coordinated and submitted within 45-60 days from Notice to Proceed. For the Runway 24 Control project GM2 re-set the threshold pin and both FAA reference stations that were destroyed during the resurfacing of Runway 24.
