I-84/Route 8 CE&I project in Waterbury

GM2 worked with the Walsh Construction Company to complete full deck replacements for both Route 8 northbound and Route 8 southbound. This necessitated installing a temporary bypass consisting of three temporary bridges and approximately one-half mile of temporary highway. After a thorough bridge inspection during construction revealed deterioration of the existing concrete deck, all concrete decks in all spans on Route 8 southbound were replaced in support of the project’s twenty-five year repair goal. This project also included deck pathcing, deck end reconstruction, waterproofing membrane insallation, paving, joint installation, and, steel repairs and strengthening  of sign support structures for both sides of the I-84 through the Mixmaster.
