GM2 worked with the Town of Litchfield’s Public Works Director & Town Engineer, Raz Alexe, to develop a bundled bridge application for funding and eventual design solutions for the preservation of four bridges; East Litchfield Road and Wheeler Road over Spruce Brook, Sawmill Road over Marshepaug River and Duck Pond Road over Butternut Brook. This is one of the first projects under this program to go into design. The construction is expected to begin in April of 2021 and will finish by November.
Raz Alexe said, “We are very grateful for the opportunity of being able to benefit from this great Preservation Bridge Program as part of the (CTDOt) Federal Local Bridge Program. We had very valuable input and support from CTDOT through their consultant, Close, Jensen and Miller and extremely pertinent and professional design and guidance from GM2 Associates.”
Notably, GM2 provided design and construction phase services for the 2nd contract under this program as well, for the Town of Berlin. GM2 is proud of it’s municipal work and humbled by it’s client’s continued trust in their infrastructure.
