Entry-level Animator and Graphic Designer

Position Overview: GM2 Associates, Inc. is seeking a creative and technically minded entry-level Animator & Graphic Designer to join our Visual Communications (Viscom) team. This role bridges engineering and visual storytelling,  transforming complex technical concepts into clear, compelling graphics and animations for internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is both artistic and analytical, comfortable collaborating with engineers and marketing professionals while producing high quality visual assets using advanced creative software programs. This position offers hands-on project experience, mentorship, and structured professional development, with opportunities to grow technical fluency and take on increasing responsibility across engineering, architecture and product design projects.   Key Responsibilities: Create 2D and/or 3D animations to visualize engineering concepts, processes, simulations, and product functionality, with guidance from senior technical and visual communications staff as needed. Design technical graphics, diagrams, infographics, and presentation materials for engineering documentation and client deliverables. Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and technical leads to ensure visual accuracy and clarity while building technical understanding. Translate CAD models, schematics, and technical data into polished visual content. Develop visual assets for proposals, reports, training materials, marketing collateral, and digital platforms. Maintain consistency with brand guidelines while adapting visuals for technical audiences. Revise and iterate designs based on technical feedback and evolving project requirements. Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment   Qualifications: Education - Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Animation, Visualization, Engineering Graphics, or related field. A strong work portfolio or other relevant experience that clearly demonstrates a candidate’s capabilities in these areas may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Experience & Technical Skills - Working knowledge of design and animation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects, as well as 3ds Max, Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, or similar software. Solid understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, color theory, and motion design. Demonstrated ability to interpret technical information and communicate it visually with accuracy. Project & Team Collaboration - Interest in collaborating with engineers and technical subject matter experts required. Ability to translate CAD models, schematics, and technical data into clear visual outputs, with support from senior staff. Comfortable incorporating feedback and iterating in a multidisciplinary team environment. Extended Knowledge – Experience with technical illustrations, exploded views, or process animations preferred. Basic understanding of engineering principles or demonstrated willingness to learn quickly. Leadership - Strong communication skills, highly collaborative, initiative-taking, organized, and deadline driven. Creative problem solver with a technical mindset.
